Riahna’s CRPS FND journey

Riahna's condition, CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), is a chronic pain disorder that occurs after an injury to an arm or leg. It involves excessive and prolonged pain, inflammation, and changes in skin color, temperature, and swelling. Additionally, Riahna has been diagnosed with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder), which is characterized by neurological symptoms such as weakness, tremors, numbness, blackout episodes, and difficulty with movement and sensation.

Due to these conditions, Riahna is currently wheelchair-bound and unable to use both her hands and feet. The pain, swelling, poor circulation, and muscle spasms caused by CRPS, alongside the functional dissociative seizures, headaches, and sleep problems caused by FND, have made it extremely challenging for her to complete basic tasks and work.

Riahna is a passionate dancer who has dedicated the past 8 years to running her own dance studio, South Coast Dance, and teaching children and adolescents various dance styles. Her friends describe her as bubbly, kind, and fun-loving. However, her conditions have significantly impacted her daily life and ability to continue pursuing her passions.
