I am Luis Ojeda, Maury Mendoza's cousin. Maury and Rafael's 11-year-old little girl, Mariam, started feeling sick with headaches, dizziness, and fevers in April 2023. After multiple visits to the hospital and doing Exams, Lab Panels, and MRIs, Mariam was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma of the bone, in her right acetabulum (hip socket).

While waiting for the biopsy, the symptoms worsened, the pain intensified, and it made it impossible for Mariam to walk. After a diagnosis of sarcoma (tumor in the tissue), uncertainty continued since it had to be confirmed with an immunohistochemical study (study of the tissue). That study revealed that the Lymphoma was in an advanced stage.

Mariam is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment, with the possibility of radiotherapy/radiation, and will need reconstructive or replacement surgery in her hip.

I am raising funds for Mariam because she is a girl who has brought so much happiness and joy to many people, and she has a whole life to live and enjoy! All the donations will be used to pay for the treatments she needs.

Soy Luis Ojeda, primo de Maury Mendoza que es Madre de Mariam, la niña de 11 años que tiene junto a su esposo Rafael Figueredo, comenzó a sentirse enferma con dolores de cabeza, mareos y fiebre en Abril de 2023. Después de múltiples visitas al hospital y de realizar exámenes, paneles de laboratorio y resonancias magnéticas, a Mariam le diagnosticaron enfermedad LINFOMA NO HODKIN OSEO EN ETAPA AVAZADA Linfoma del hueso, en el acetábulo derecho (cavidad de la cadera).

Mientras esperaba la biopsia, los síntomas empeoraron, el dolor se intensificó y a Mariam le resultaba imposible caminar. Tras un diagnóstico de sarcoma (tumor en el tejido), la incertidumbre continuaba ya que había que confirmarlo con un estudio inmunohistoquímico (estudio del tejido). Ese estudio reveló que el linfoma se encontraba en una etapa avanzada.

Actualmente Mariam está recibiendo tratamiento de quimioterapia, con posibilidad de radioterapia/radiación, y necesitará cirugía reconstructiva o de reemplazo en su cadera.

Estoy recaudando fondos para Mariam porque es una niña que ha traído tanta felicidad y alegría a muchas personas, ¡y tiene toda una vida para vivir y disfrutar! Todas las donaciones se utilizarán para pagar los tratamientos medicos y cualquier gasto relacionado a su enfermedad.
