Rebecca’s story broke my heart but at the same time, I feel blessed and honored knowing and believing we can help.

I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my co-worker and friend- Rebecca and Isabelle, her 18 year old daughter .

On 9/9 she felt as if the world stopped and nothing was making sense. She took 18 year old daughter Isabelle to the ER for what she thought was a tension headache or a possible pulled muscle in her neck/shoulder area. After extensive blood work, a CT scan, and an MRI - it was determined Isabelle had numerous blood clots in her right transverse and sigmoid sinuses and superior right jugular vein. She was admitted, in ICU immediately. The neurosurgeon told her if she did not bring her daughter in when she did, she would have not made it.

Isabelle was shortly diagnosed with

Thrombosis in the right traverse sigmoid and jugular vein.

And just like that this beautiful, young lady’s dreams were shattered:

She is not to play hockey anymore ( her huge passion since she was 6 years old ) . She is to drop out of college where she was going for Culinary Arts. She is not to work or drive. ( until further notice). She is to remain in the hospital, she is to follow up with a whole team of specialists.

Rebecca remains in the hospital, by her daughter day and night grateful through all the beeping of machines. Rebecca is off work at this time and is the only household income as her husband is a stay at home dad to care for her other two minor children ages 2 and 4. She is doing what any mother would do: BE THERE WITH HER CHILD in an UNKNOWN JOURNEY AHEAD.

The road ahead for Rebecca’s family and their daughter Isabelle is not easy , emotionally, physically and financially, but they are climbing it with fierce determination.

As a family, they are all fighting not just for their daughter but for every soul who stood by them and thought of them during this very difficult time.
