On 26 April 2026, Rhys should have been 10 years old. It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since I last got to hold him.
Rhys is always with us — in our conversations, in our memories, our hearts and in everything we do. Life is so cruel that he doesn’t get to be here. 10 years ago, on 5 May 2016 we had to say goodbye, and life has never felt the same since.
To mark his 10th birthday, I will be walking 10 miles. One mile for each year. Time to reflect on the last decade, to remember him, and to honour his place in our lives.
While I’m doing this, I would also love to raise some money to help support other families going through the heartbreak of losing a baby.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe page so that any money raised can be used to purchase something meaningful for the hospital in Rhys’ memory. After discussions, we hope to provide a privacy pram for Blackpool Victoria Hospital, to support bereaved families and give them a little more comfort and dignity during the most difficult of times.
If you would like to donate, it would mean so much to us. There is absolutely no pressure — simply taking a moment to remember Rhys is more than enough.
Thank you for helping us keep Rhys’ memory alive
