Hi Everyone,
This fundraising page has been set up to help with treatment costs for Rhys Scott.
Some of you may know Rhys Scott from PMB (South Africa), Bishop’s Stortford (UK), London (UK), or Vancouver (Canada).
Rhys and Sara have been part of the New Frontiers family of churches since early 1990’s, and helped plant ChristChurch London in 2004, and then Trinity Central in Vancouver Canada in 2011, now a vibrant community of people who love and worship Jesus in the heart of Vancouver.
If you’re reading this, you may well be aware that in March 2024 Rhys was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, and at the time he was given 14 to 18 months to live. In the months following, many people supported him in prayer as he underwent conventional treatment (including surgery, chemo and radiation) and God has blessed him remarkably with an active life and fruitful ministry over the past 22 months. Praise God for His grace and healing hand!
Over 3 consecutive scans last year, other smaller tumours showed shrinkage. However, in early December, Rhys required a second surgery. He is making a great recovery and has resumed chemo. Initially there were no treatments available to Rhys for this condition other than surgery, radiation and chemo, but over the past 6 months a supplemental treatment has emerged that is having some promising outcomes. This treatment is now available to them in Canada.
Rhys and Sara have walked this incredibly tough journey with inspirational faith and strength and with a resolute commitment to glorifying God every step of the way. They are so grateful for the love and prayers of so many people from around the world carrying them through this time. Please do continue to pray for them over the coming months as they continue to trust God for his healing hand upon Rhys and as they take next steps with regard to treatment.
The budget for this supplemental treatment which we would love to raise, is CAD$25,000 / £13,500.
If you are able and would like to support them in this way, you can do so here.
Thank you so much.
