08/26/2020 Update:
Hi everyone,
Great news! Hayze's surgery was completed yesterday evening 8/25/2020 and he has been under the supervision of veterinary medical professional for the last 24 hours or so and is in good condition!
There was hardware placed where the fracture took place in his pelvis causing the previous bone on bone friction. We believe this should allow Hayze (once fully recovered) to live the active lifestyle he's so accustomed to.
There is one more set of X-rays that's taking place this evening (post surgery) to ensure that the hardware placement is 100% accurate and to ensure that there's no further complications from the surgery. Once this final X-ray is completed Hayze will be released from the hospital and will be given back to Micah Bullis hayze's owner for long term recovery.
Brian Bovenzi from https://wesavedapuppy.org/ played an imperative role in getting Hayze through the surgery finish line. His organization is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is geared towards providing medical care, feeding, rescuing and finding loving homes for abandoned and stray animals. No one working for this organization takes any form of payment.
I also want to thank everyone who shared, donated and helped in anyway. Without you guys this would have been impossible and I can't imagine what the unfortunate outcome could've been.
I will post any photos or videos I receive of Hayze's recovery process as soon as I get them
Thank you again everyone!
All the best,
David
08/19/20 Update
Thanks to @wesavedapuppy, Hayze is on his way to San Diego to finally get his surgery! I will post updates after the operation.
08/14/20 Update
Hayze is going into surgery this coming Wednesday 7/19/2020 and he's getting the top part of his bone near his pelvis where his leg goes into the socket operated on. This is due to the cartilage in-between his bone getting crushed in the accident. The cartilage being crushed allowed for bone on bone friction which is extremely painful and requires surgical intervention.
Therefore, the fractured portion needs to be removed to give room in-between each bone so hardware can be placed to hold each bone in place. We are hopeful for a full recovery after this surgery to the extend that be'll be able to run and fully enjoy his life again to the upmost extent.
This has been an extremely long and tedious road to an accurate diagnosis and recovery plan but I'm happy to say we have a plan in place and hopes are high. We are forever grateful for the donations, love, support, and everyone coming together to help in such an unfortunate situation.
Without everyones generous donations, shares, and of course the fantastic @wesavedapuppy wesavedapuppy.org non-profit organization Hayze would not be alive. I can't tell you how thankful we are.
If you have time please give wesavedapuppy.org a follow and show them some love. The owner of this organization Brian has been absolutely essential in finding the right path to recovery for Hayze and has allowed for this opportunity for recovery to exist.
We will update the gofundme as soon as new information becomes available.
Thank you again to everyone!
Original Post
Hayze is a loving energetic 5-year-old half Australian Shepherd half German Shepherd mix. He was tragically hit by a car on the corner of Victoria and Moon in Ventura California on the evening of August 11th after escaping his backyard.
He was missing and was brought to the Camarillo Animal Shelter on the morning of August 12th where he was picked up and diagnosed with a Fractured Pelvis. X-rays were given and surgery is required within 3-5 days to ensure that the fractured pelvis heals properly.
Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is between $6,000 to $9,000 and Haze's owner, Micah Bullis does not have the financial means to support this.
If you know Micah and Hayze you know that they are inseparable and Hayze is truly the definition of Man's best friend. If He does not get this surgery he will have to be put down.
We greatly appreciate any contribution you can make.
