There are no words to describe the grief for all of us with the sudden loss of one of the most caring, beautiful, selfless, & loving angels that we will ever meet, Rhonda Featherston Poepke. She passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home on May 23, 2018 with her 3 precious "brown-eyed boys" (as she called her hubby Jon, and 2 sons Seth & Cole) all with her under the same roof...she wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Although Rhonda's time on earth was too short for our liking, we all feel honored to have such special memories of this most remarkable woman to hold onto forever!
Rhonda touched the lives of so many with her unbelievably positive attitude and her unlimited love and respect for every person who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a way of calming the soul and of giving hope and understanding to all even in their most difficult times. Her generous spirit and her commitment to her family, friends, and God shined bright at all times despite her own struggles which she never seemed to talk about...she only cared about what was going on with each one of us!
We already all miss her glowing smile, her sweet Texas accent, and her love for all of us and of God's little creatures. We will always cherish our time together. Rhonda was an excellent writer and expressed herself freely and unapologetically on Facebook and to the world despite even some touchy subjects, and did so with grace and respect for all who agreed and also for those who may have disagreed with her viewpoints. Rhonda was firmly grounded, knowing exactly who she was and what she stood for, and that is definitely one of the qualities that we loved most about her! She posted a beautiful message on Facebook on January 1, 2018 saying "Happy New Year. Make each day count! It may truly be your last, love each other and try every day to make someone's day better they saw you than before they saw you!" There's no question that Rhonda made our days better and we will hold her in our hearts forever!!
Her wonderful husband Jon and two precious sons, Seth & Cole, now have to handle life without her. It is difficult for us to accept, but it will be even more of a daily struggle for this family to function without Rhonda's love and laughter, in addition to the challenges of caring for the boys as a solo parent, and with working full time. The family has recently lost other beloved family members and has also had to fly in and out of Minnesota to attend funeral services. Jon is humble and would never ask for our financial support. He has had to take quite a bit of leave from his job, and there will be even more to come with Rhonda's services in Minnesota and in Texas, along with caring for the special needs of their youngest son Cole in addition to Seth's childhood needs. Now is the time for this family's "village" to come together to help them...so please do what you can to ease at least a small burden off them with some financial support. There is no amount that is too small...it all adds up!! Rhonda would do the same for all of us and she will forever be eternally grateful for our continued love and support even if you are unable to help financially them at this time. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
We love and miss you so much Rhonda! And to Jon, Seth, & Cole...we are so sorry for this unimaginable loss of your loving wife and Momma...she was an angel on earth and now she is watching over you in complete peace. We mourn with you.
