Rhonda Smith Stepp, a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, and colleague, passed away on Friday, February 4th from severe injuries she sustained in a car accident on January 28, 2021. Rhonda’s unexpected passing has sent waves of sorrow and shock to all of those who have known her. As colleagues of Rhonda’s, we have come together to honor our friend by creating the Rhonda Stepp Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship committee has the goal to give the love and legacy of Rhonda’s scholarship to a minimum of one Marshall High School graduate, starting with the Class of 2022 and then extending beyond.
Rhonda Smith was a graduate of Marshall High School which laid the foundation of pride and love for the halls of MHS. Rhonda then spent 25 years serving as an employee of Marshall Public Schools and became a mentor to all who met her. Rhonda was the building administrative assistant, the first face of MHS, and the captain of our ship. Beyond the role of secretary, Rhonda turned her passion of education to MHS seniors as their senior class sponsor. As well, she became a vital member of the Class Night team. She loved working with each graduating class. It only seems fitting that Rhonda’s legacy is passed down each year to one of “her seniors.”
By providing your support to the Rhonda Stepp Memorial Scholarship, which will be presented and announced at Marshall High School’s Class Night event, Rhonda’s legacy of leadership, loyalty, and love will live on.
Thank you!
