Loss of Dave and Help for Laurel

My dear friend Laurel lost her husband, rock, and friend 2 days before Christmas. Dave Lambly succumbed to an infection his body (riddled with MS for the past 20 years) could not fight off. December 23, 2020 Dave went to be with Jesus around 5:45 a.m. Laurel woke up to find the one she had loved for almost 30 years laying next to her lifeless yet peaceful. Dave was gone. Laurel always knew this day would come, but no matter how long your head knows this, your heart is never prepared for losing your mate. She is devastated and lost without the one she cared for day in and day out suddenly being gone. Laurel and Dave met in 1981 and were married in 1982. Back in those days Dave loved to ride his motorcycle, camp, do archery, scuba dive among other things and anything you could do outdoors. Him and Laurel also raised show dogs at one point and excelled in that. Dave was also a great cook and often called on to make the food for various fundraisers, church functions etc. Dave was the neighbor you always wanted to live beside. He would always offer help to friends doing projects of any sort. If he could help you build it or fix it, he would! He was functional up until about 5 years ago when he started declining with the MS. He became wheelchair bound and slowly started losing his ability to do things on his own. Poor Laurel with her bad back amongst other medical issues finally retired from Dameron hospital in 2018, after working there for 20+ years. Upon retiring she became Daves full time caregiver. As the disease progressed he started to become more and more dependent on her help. Dave was a big man, proud man, a man's man. He never wanted to be a burden on anyone and sometimes got down on himself because that's what he believed he had become. Laurel disagreed and despite her pain gave Dave 110% all day everyday!! I, myself truly loved the old Canadian...lol...he truly was a good friend to me and I miss him. He was cynical at times but always kept his sense of humor!! I was so blessed the day before he died that he told me he loved me. Like I said, he truly was a good friend. At the end, however, basically the last 6 months, he was unable to use his hands at all. He couldn't hold a cup, feed himself, drive his wheelchair or even scratch his own nose. Laurel was his heart as well as his hands and feet during these times. She hated to see him suffering as it just seemed to get worse daily with infections coming around more frequently and never fully going away. Laurel knew when he died that it was gonna be hard but she never had thought he would go so quickly and two days before Christmas at that. Dave is survived by his 4 daughters, Christina, Patricia, Deborah and Melanie. His Mother, Allegra, two sisters, Barbara and Tammy and dear wife Laurel as well as many other friends and family. Laurel believed that she would be able to pay for his funeral and burial from a life insurance policy that they had for Dave. My heart has never broken for someone as much as it did yesterday as I walked into her living room to find her crying uncontrollably after getting off the phone with the insurance company. There is no life insurance on Dave, no policy, the company had terminated it some years back. Needless to say, Laurel is devastated and worried sick. She is unable to bury Dave until she can pay for it. I am begging for your help in getting Dave put to rest. She has the plot picked out etc. , but cannot proceed until it is paid in full. Can you please find it in your heart to help out The Lambly's in getting the $$ raised to put Dave to rest???? He gave so much to others when he was alive and able to do so that I think to give back to his wife (he told her she was his rock before he passed) in her time of need would make his heart happy!! In her time of grief I hate to see her have to worry about money...that shouldn't be weighing on her so heavy as it is. Please help if you can, as much or as little as you can, and know it is greatly needed as well as appreciated. Share with all your friends and thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening. I pray for God's blessings on each one of you.
