Rhonda Coady’s Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hi,
An update on what is happening with Mum. The drug company has agreed to pay for her treatment. She has a long road ahead so we’re keeping this campaign open for those who would still like to donate. Thank you so much to everyone for your support.
This is a call for help.
For my beautiful mum Rhonda Coady.
For the past few years mum has been going through the all-too common experience of fighting cancer. The primary cancer was a melanoma in her sinus and unfortunately it has now spread to her bones, liver and behind her eye.
Immunotherapy was working really well but has been so toxic to her liver it is no longer an option. The oncologist has now recommended a new treatment that is not covered by the PBS and is going to cost about $2,500 a month. Mum’s Specialist contacted her private health cover for assistance and we found out on Thursday that the request for funding has been rejected.
Therefore, we are reaching out to you- all family, friends and anyone who has had their lives touched by mum through music or connected with the lovely person she is.
We are trying to raise enough funds for her first 6 months of treatment and possibly beyond if all goes well. Mum and dad are now pensioners and there is no way they can cover the cost of treatment without help. Though the family is doing our best to support her treatment, any amount you can offer will go a long way in giving my mum the long and comfortable life she deserves.Thank you for reading as far as you have and caring enough for my mum and her family to offer your support, even if it’s just by spreading the word of this campaign to someone who can donate, whether or not that person is you.
Any money you can offer is needed. Maybe you don't have money to spare at this point, however, if there is any expertise or knowledge you have that you can share with us, please let us know. Even if it's just passing this message to as many friends as you can we would be extremely grateful.
The oncologist had recommended mum begins treatment as soon as possible so we'd love to be able to get her started in the next two weeks, if not sooner. Help us. Help her. Help my mum.
Thank you all for your time and attention. It is difficult and humbling to reach out for help, but she's my mum.
