Rhonda & Calvin have the relationship of fairy tales. As Rhonda shared the story with me, they met serving others working with the Red Cross. Their relationship started as a friendship and Rhonda loves telling everyone how amazong life is when you are able to marry your best friend!
Unfortunately, the realities of life got in the way and Calvin was diagnosed with cancer in March 2016. From diagnosis, they have known this was a terminal prognosis and Hospice was actually started in July. Only by his own will, Calvin has been the odds and continues to battle cancer every day.
Rhonda has always taken care of people in her personal and professional life. Day in and out, she spends her days working with families who are loosing their loved ones and supporting them through that transition as a Family Support Coordinator. But now, Rhonda needs our help. As Calvin's primary caretaker, she has spent the last year working 24/7 whether it is caring for Calvin, maintaining their home or caring for families at "work". Her employer has been phenomenal supporting her amended schedules, but she has still had to use much of her vacation/sick time and exhausted many of the financial resources they have worked their entire lives to save.
Rhonda would NEVER ask for help herself. But as we all can imagine there are medical bills and just the daily costs of living that are creating such a burden at a time when they should be able to simply appreciate the time they have left. Please donate if you are able. If not, they welcome and desire prayer, positive thoughts and vibes. If you have time, you can also offer to sit with Calvin, take care of household chores or walk the dogs! It's all so appreciated.
