Art is an excellent way to create awareness to an audience without making a message conscpicuous. This film will have powerful tools to encourage and change mindsets on how everyone's personal footprints affect this very soil, making an everlasting impact for future generations. 

I am currently enrolled in my senior year at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, CA. I moved from Honolulu to get my Bachelors degree in Acting for Film. Moving from Hawaii to California completely astounded me. The amount of pollution I was now living in was ghastly to see, let alone think about. I decided that I needed to make a change in my own life. I decided to no longer buy anything in plastic or non-recyclable/reusable packaging. I vowed to always discuss problems and topics towards environmentalism to encourage and inspire others to live this waste free lifestyle. 

This campaign is for my final senior thesis film called “Rhododendron.” It is an environmental piece that will illuminate the magnificence of Earths natural beauty.

My film will discuss and illustrate the negitive effect that man has had on the Earth.  It will deliver a powerfully ominous warning towards a negligent humanity. 

Every flower has a symbolic meaning. 

The Rhododendron flower symbolizes “Beware of Excess” as well as “Caution and Danger”. The significance of this floral meaning comes from the deadly toxins that the Rhododendron plant contains, which if ingested, are harmful to humans and animals. In Elizabethan times, flowers were used as a language to show emotions towards family, friends, lovers, and enemies. 

Rhododendron is a perfect example and illustration of a flower that is beautiful, yet deadly when used irresponsibly. Just like this flower, human convenience is a beautiful and instantaneous evolution of human kind, yet a poisonous disguise for all.  Choosing to make this art piece, will show that the world is not here for human convenience and consumption. If everyone's everyday bad habits stay the same, there will be no generous and bountiful Earth left for our future children, or anyone after them to live on. 

This film will be made completely without making any type of non-biodegradable rubbish/trash.


Why donate to this film?

This film is going to be filled with beautiful sights in natural landscapes, national forests, and state parks. These places require costly permits that allow us to film in those areas. In order for us to convey this powerful message of environmentalism for future generations, donations would help us immensely! 

Because we will be filming on location, our small crew will be camping in order to be more sustainable with gas and covering less ground.

The costumes will be bought or made from only sustainable/ethically product producing clothing companies or from second hand stores. 

Anyone who donates will have the assurance that this piece will spread the word of environmental encouragement. It will encourage others to truly take a second look at how they consume things everyday and how their lifestyles affect everything around them. To get rid of plastic in everyday life, and choose to stop creating trash!
