My Mother’s Father once said that my Momma would rather die than ask for help. Anyone who knows her knows this to be true….so I’m asking for her.

I’ve spoken endlessly in life about how inspiring the love that my parents shared has been. My Mother and Father had been together since they were teenagers and were the kind of couple others looked to as an example of what love should look like.

Most of you know that her Husband (my Father) Duane had had a heart attack 16 years ago that left him with a brain injury and that he required 24 hour care from that time forward. My mother was his caregiver and provided him with the best love and care a person could provide.

Duane was diagnosed with advanced Lung cancer on Jan 12th and died in his home with his loved ones by his side on Jan 31. Him leaving this world has left my mom without any income until we figure out what her next steps are. She’ll be facing living expenses that will need to met until we know what those steps will be.
