Hello my name is Amber. First and foremost, I want to say that if you are reading this, I promise I have exhausted all my options and I hate to ask this of anyone. I am an active member of my community, I run a non-profit, and I volunteer in my community every chance I get. Nine months ago I started losing large amounts of blood and found out I have polyps on my uterus and needed a polypectomy to remove them to stop the bleeding. They informed me that time the marketplace health insurance would not cover it as they did not accept that insurance at the hospital so I chose not keep it and waited until open enrollment through my job. During that time, I found out that the insurance they offered would not cover it because it is considered a preexisting condition. I looked into Medicaid and was told I make too much to qualify and the hospital does not offer a payment plan. I applied for something referred to as a PACUP for them to cover the cost and it was denied. My doctor appealed it, but that’s was unsuccessful. Then something amazing happened: I stoped bleeding. I had hope for 2.5 months and things appeared to be better. However, it started back up again, and this time with a pain in my lower left side. They informed me that due to the blood loss, I have become immunocompromised and have developed a kidney and bladder infection. They have warned me that without this surgery, my health will continue to deteriorate. I have attached screenshots of test results and I have plenty more where that came from, as well as a message from my doctor explaining the procedure. Anything helps tremendously.
