Rhi’s Leap for Leukaemia - a Skydive to support charities

Hi my name is Rhiannon, and I’m going to be jumping out of a plane going from 0-120mph in 10 seconds & falling from 10,000 feet… on Sunday 5th April 2026… nervous is an understatement.

I will be jumping to raise money for two very special charities - Give Kids the World & Kids Cancer Charity.

Our daughter Darcy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in February 2024.

Our lives were completely turned upside down in a matter of minutes.

Throughout frontline treatment myself & Darcy had many stays in Bristol, meaning we had to divide our family of 4 in two. My husband would stay at home in Cornwall with Darcy’s twin brother Teddy, so he could still attend school, and my husband could work to pay the bills. It wasn’t ideal being 175miles away to say the least, but fortunately that part of Darcy’s treatment journey is over now and it is now all at home or in our local hospital - Treliske, until Darcy’s end of treatment date which is estimated for the 19th March 2026. We cannot wait!!!

I’m not sure we will ever fully recover from this journey and the uncertainty of treatment. However Kids cancer Charity was a lovely distraction when things were hard, offering us respite breaks. These mini breaks have been invaluable and have helped us to feel a bit like a ‘normal’ family unit again. We could be a family of 4 with no hospitals for a weekend and have no financial burden.

We have also been lucky enough that Kids Cancer Charity have approved us to go over to Florida next summer where we will get to spend a week at Give Kids the World, a respite holiday village for children with life threatening illnesses, for this we do need to fundraise £1000.

Our goal would be to raise £2000, so each charity would receive £1000 each.

P.S I’m absolutely pooping my panties to do this skydive, so any words of support are greatly appreciated ☺️ but I keep telling myself if Darcy can go through everything she has with her brave and positive attitude, then I can definitely do this!
