Rhett in need of help

We are starting a gofundme to try to assist Rhett who had a catastrophic event that occurred in the beginning of November. He suffered from ketoacidosis (due to type 1 diabetes); sent to hospital ICU; ended up getting pneumonia, sepsis and COVID there and became unresponsive for almost one hour in mid November. He was in hospital for almost 3 wks, then sunnyview rehab for 2 1/2 weeks, now in a sub acute rehab where he is learning to walk again, etc. Had major cognitive damage which seems to be resolving over time. When he is discharged-- (as medicare will stop paying at some point soon) --he will either end up in a LT care facility or back at the house alone (as we are no longer together and I have been trying to keep the house going) and he will need care/nursing coming in, PT and OT, possibly meals on wheels, etc.

Needless to say, expenses are starting to come in and will only get worse as he continues his recovery and he has limited income and no way of bringing in funds on his own.

Rhett has helped so many others in his life and given of himself by doing benefits, etc. to help others, and we are hoping folks can try to help in some way---no matter how small---anything will help! Even prayers!

His music is his legacy and has given great joy to others---it has been his life's passion (as well as his museum quality civil war HO scale model train building) all of which he may not be able to participate in any more depending on how the recovery progresses. He also has essential tremor which is progressive and he can no longer use his right hand (and it is starting in his left hand as well), which will surely cause issues with taking care of his diabetes. All a "work in progress" -- this man sure has "nine lives"! (not the first time he has returned from death)
