As many of you know, my name is Rhett, and I've been bartending around Tupelo for close to 10 years now. I've just recently been forced against my will to stop working due to multiple health issues, including but not limited to severe neuropathy, macrocytic anemia, hyponatremia, lactic acidosis, cellulitis, sepsis, and severe swelling in my lower extremities that has consistently been unresponsive to all treatments.

My mobility has become severely limited to the point I can no longer walk unassisted, have very little strength in my legs, and am pretty much consistently in pain and weakness. I am embarrassed to admit that I had my first fall two days ago and banged up one of my already compromised legs, as well as banging my head into a steel support column. I was just last week released from the hospital, where I spent a week in and out of the ICU, where I also suffered a type 2 myocardial infarction.

All of this has become quite expensive, especially since I have no health insurance. This all has also limited my spouse Larisa's ability to work since she cannot legally drive and some days it is too dangerous for me to drive since I have limited control of my feet and legs. The doctors at this point have no answers for me as far as a cause or solution to most of these problems. Due to all this, I am swallowing my pride and asking anyone for whatever help they can give in this GoFundMe. All donations will go to medical bills, food, rent, utilities, prescriptions, and getting me to and from the many specialist doctor referrals I have coming up until I can hopefully get back to working.

I have been trying to apply for as much government assistance as possible for now since there is no telling how long this could go on or if it will be permanent or possibly a degenerative illness. However, most of these programs have at least a month-plus approval period, if not a year or more.
