Rhea & Esper ER for poison ingestion
Donation protected
Hi I am the owner of 3 beautiful cats. Owl the scottish fold tortie, and Esper + Rhea who are two black cat sibling sisters.
I normally don’t allow plants in my house because my cats get into everything. I was gifted flowers recently and kept them in my bathroom which I keep closed.
This morning my cat Rhea got into the bathroom and started chewing on the flowers. I called my vet immediately to see if I needed to bring her in to induce vomiting. The vet informs me to bring her immediately to the ER since the flowers, lilies, are highly toxic.
Rhea was admitted to the ER earlier this morning due to ingesting Lillies, which are incredibly dangerous for cats.
Rhea is admitted for minimum 48 hours. Theres a chance she can pass away and a higher chance she will have life altering kidney damage that would affect her lifespan dramatically. In rare cases she walks out scott free.
I thought the other two cats were okay but I was worried so I brought them to my old vet (vets around me wouldnt see them since they’re new patients and they didnt have any new patient appointments for weeks out). So Owl and Esper get in at my old vet to get labs done. I thought everything would be fine and I got home but it seems like Esper also ingested some since she vomited at 8:20pm.
So now the same poison and kidney failure concerns are in consideration for Esper, my other cat, except she is 10 hours behind treatment.
Owl is pending ? exposure. I have no idea if she was exposed.
Lillies can send cats into kidney failure rather quickly and with an extremely high mortality rate. Without treatment mortality is 90-100%.
To my understanding theres a decent chance my girls might pass away.

I plan to setup another gofundme for the cats since this is looking like minimum $4,000 and more likely $6,000-$7,000. If Owl was affected I would be looking at $10,000.
My main focus currently is getting them through today and focusing on their survival.
