Maria comes from Greece and she is a 38 years old GBM patient (deadliest type of brain cancer). She speaks 8 foreign languages, has lived in several countries and in her free time she loves playing piano, reading and watching movies. Her motto is  “every day do something that makes you smile”.

Maria’s tumor was diagnosed in January 2017. She had an operation to remove it and then she undertook two rounds of radio and chemotherapy. Now she has 3 new brain tumors that unfortunately are not operable and she can only extend her life with a laser treatment named Gamma Knife. In public hospitals in Greece, there is no such machine, therefore she needs to go to a private hospital. The cost is 15.000€ including doctor salaries and other expenses. 

Maria needs to have the operation as soon as possible, otherwise her life is in danger. With the Gamma Knife operation she will have an improved quality of life.
