Dear Visitor,

May I introduce the "RGI 2025" project to you?

Rational Games (RGI) is a training, coaching and consulting company teaching negotiation using playful methods to clients in 40 countries around the world, not only on Zoom,. Clients in Germany are the Foreign Ministry, several larger multinationals and one of the parties in the German Bundestag. We were founded in 2001 and are approaching our 25 year anniversary next year. We are based in Berlin.

RGI is also a social business, registered as a nonprofit in both the US and Germany. We set aside a large portion of earnings to support innovative projects that use games and play to resolve conflict in the nonprofit sector.

After several years of discussions about RGI as an “Infinite Game”, the Board has made some decisions on how to organize the company and rethink its strategy in preparation for that paradigm shift.

The status quo is not an option. We have much to be proud of, not least our fabulous trainer team. But in order to continue our work (and play) infinitely ,we not only need new management, but also a clearer organization structure, a more gripping USP message and deeper and wider client relationships.

In just a few months, we will organize officially as a “non-independent foundation” (“unselbständige Stiftung”) charged with concentrating all our efforts on philanthropic outreach, grantgiving decisions and impact measurement. Our remit will be to find new “Kangaroo Partners” with the resources to significantly leverage our still very modest financial and human capital. I will run this foundation together with one associate.

The RGI Stiftung will wholly own a new for-profit Unternehmensgesellschaft (UG),t axed at the preferential rate of 30% and charged with developing and expanding RGIs competence and client base in negotiation training, consulting and coaching, to include storytelling and ethical leadership and more. We will shortly appoint a new Geschäftsführung (probably a tandem of two) to lead this effort.

Profits from this second company will transfer annually to the Foundation to fund approved projects in the nonprofit world.

Both these companies will be governed by a Beirat (supervisory Board) , with 5-7 members each serving a three year term and serving as the sounding board and final authority on strategic decisions especially for the grantgiving activity.

We will close our existing 501C3 nonprofit, retaining the Cambridge address ( ) and also access to a local partner who can receive funds from US foundations.

A primary motivation for all of this is to strengthen our team cohesion, moving from a “family” of freelance professionals engaging occasionally in work together as well as wonderful retreats, to a real team with “skin in the game”. As engaged partners, we want to co-create a truly Infinite Game together.

It is for that reason that we are opening the drive to raise the required EUR 10.000 initial capital injection to all who believe in our idea and would like to participate. That participation can certainly be substantive contributions to our intellectual capital, but also a financial investment in our success.

We need to raise this money by January 15 and have set February 15 as the date for the official filing of the paperwork with the Finanzamt, aiming at a completion date of April 1. Once our team of Mitstifter has been identified,, several of our trainers are set to offer a one-day or even weekend workshop to discuss concretely how to make all this happen.

Can you help us succeed?
