Hurricane Melissa has left parts of Jamaica devastated - homes destroyed, communities cut off, families without electricity, water, and the ability to reach loved ones. Many residents in Manchester, St. Elizabeth, Trelawny, Hanover, Westmoreland and St. James are still without the basics needed to get through each day. Through its RG CARES Foundation, the RJRGLEANER Communications Group is providing urgent support to the hardest-hit and isolated communities. The RG CARES Foundation is the not-for-profit company established within the RJRGLEANER Communications Group in Jamaica to undertake charitable activities.
The RG CARES volunteers have been on the ground packaging and delivering food, water, hygiene supplies, temporary mobile charging access, temporary Wi-Fi hubs, and direct assistance to residents isolated by the hurricane. The need is overwhelming, and they cannot do it alone. Your donation will help them to continue to:
• Deliver essential care packages (food, water, hygiene supplies, insect repellents, etc)
• Provide device charging access and internet connection during visits for families still without power
• Reach isolated communities in the most devastated areas
• Support seniors, shut-ins, children, and other vulnerable residents most affected
• Continue on-the-ground relief where conditions remain challenging
Please donate today and share this campaign widely. Every contribution, small or large, helps a Jamaican family rebuild and regain stability after this life-altering disaster.
The Gleaner Company (UK) Limited, the UK subsidiary of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group (the leading media group in Jamaica), is the organiser of the fundraiser and the RG CARES Foundation in Jamaica is the beneficiary. Together, we can help Jamaica rise stronger after Hurricane Melissa.
Thank you for standing with us!
