Hi, my name is Amy (Schneck) Wilson and I am raising money for life-saving, last ditch effort treatment for my sweet cat, Samson.
Samson is only 5 years old, but has very quickly started exhibiting symptoms of the fatal disease, Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) in the last few days. A once extremely friendly and playful cat, Samson has now presented as a much older cat - one that can only sleep, can’t walk or jump like he could 5 days ago, and cannot eat. This is an uncommon neurological disorder that presents in only 10% of cats that is almost ALWAYS fatal.
He has lost several pounds already as well as presenting mobility issues. These symptoms will only get worse and we would have to watch as he deteriorates at a rapid pace. The medication he needs is called GS-441524. This is a treatment that has to be administered via daily injections for 84 days, followed by 84 days of observation. This medication has a 95% acceptance rate with only a 1% of relapse.
We have been quoted $5500 for 84 days of treatment. I am only raising around half of this cost on this campaign as I am planning on devoting as much money as I can to the other half of the medication.
I cannot express to you just how devastated we are. Samson is the truly sweetest, gentle giant. He loves everyone he meets and has the most mild temperament I’ve ever seen in a cat. The reality of watching him slowly pass away as his health gets worse and worse seems inhumane.
I would do anything for my cats, even ask for help in this manner. Anything you can spare helps and just know that helping him will help me.
