On March 31st, Nicole and Fred Musial welcomed their beautiful baby girl Kaylee into the world. Kaylee was their first girl - she has 2 big brothers Freddie and Michael. Nicole had some cramping and pain, but it was often chalked up to giving birth, breast feeding, and exhaustion - typical "I just had a baby" pains. In typical Nicole fashion, she put her pains aside to care for her new baby and family.
On Monday, April 6th, Nicole went to the ER with abdominal pain. It was discovered she had an infection in her uterus. She quickly deteriorated, and the infection spread to her blood. She was not responding to the antibiotics, her blood pressure was dropping, and she was in severe pain. They attempted to remove much of the infection from her uterus, which stabilized her a bit. However, she was in severe pain and her body was exhausted so she was put into medically induced coma. She was not breathing well either, so she was ventilated.
Nicole was flown to U Penn Hospital April 8th in stable but critical condition. She is still not responding well to the antibiotics, so she is undergoing additional surgeries and attempts to save her life.
If you know Nicole, you know she is a FIGHTER. If you don't know Nicole, she is so strong she was originally going to go to a minute clinic for her pain!
She is fighting for her LIFE right now.
She needs her husband to be with her more than ever, and he is missing work. They still need to pay bills, and we need to help them so their family can be strong and supportive for Nicole.
