RFIS Commencement Speaking

Greetings, friends. Many of you have likely supported my family and me in our Cameroon missionary venture from 2014-2017. Our majority reason for being there was for me to teach missionary kids and nationals at Rain Forest International School. It was a fruitful season ministry, full of teaching, loving, laboring, discipling and rich relationships with students, missionary colleagues and dear Cameroonian friends.

This past week (late March) I received an invitation from the class of 2018--the class for which I served as advisor all three years--to speak at their commencement service on June 7. This would be a special opportunity for me to challenge and encourage a group of young people that are exceptionally dear to my heart. It would also be a time of mutual affirmation and fellowship with so many people I have loved yet left, an opportunity to put a stamp or exclamation point on the three-year missionary venture the Lord blessed me to be a part of.

Because of my epilepsy and the seizure risk that overnight flights and lack of sleep involve, I do not engage in international travel alone. Therefore the expense is doubled because Heidi would travel with me--admittedly not a sacrifice for her, heading back to Africa and the Yaoundé community she served and loved so well! However, this total cost overwhelms our financial realities (and a mission school like RFIS cannot afford to fund transatlantic transportation for a graduation speaker.)

So if you are able and willing to contribute to this cause, we would be deeply grateful. Thank you!
