Medical and Recuperation fund for Stephanie Clark

My friend Stephanie and I once entered a shop where the owner, an elderly gentleman, was crying in pain. Within moments she was massaging the stranger's foot because she has skills and could help. That's who she is - a helper, a caretaker, a healer.

Stephanie is the friend or family member who will spend countless hours designing and sewing a puppet theater to fit the frame you constructed. She will build, paint, and help your play with any set or costume needs. She once spent an entire evening and a twelve-hour day helping create a thirty foot moon for my son's high school marching band. Stephanie is generous with her time, talent, and money.

She fills a room with her laughter, loves comedy, creativity, and kids. Her cup filled with coffee she approaches each new day ready to work hard, take care of her clients, and support her family. We met in 1987 while she was studying theater at SMS (MSU) and enmeshed in her love (obsession?) with the band KISS. We've been friends ever since. I was so proud of Stephanie when she completed her goal of becoming a licensed massage therapist and was positively thrilled when she began her own practice.

You know her too; she makes friends everywhere she goes. From high school through college, different job sites and theaters, Stephanie brings fun, music, and a little sass along the way.

For years our friend has needed a hysterectomy. She scheduled the surgery only after saving enough to take the necessary time off to heal. Because Stephanie is self-employed she has no sick days or vacation time.

During the surgery there were complications. Our friend is fine but I see the worry in her eyes. She must now take at least double the time off  before returning to work. The healer needs time to heal, and folks, she needs our help.

My goal with this fundraiser is simple - to help cover Stephanie's bills while she recuperates. Any extra funds can go toward her insurance deductible. For all the laughs, help, food, and friendship she has shared - please donate whatever you can.
Much love and many thanks,
Peggy Russell
