On the evening of Sunday, April 5 2015 the mom of my very good friend (more like a brother to me) was in a head-on collision and was very badly injured. She was airlifted to a Denver area trauma center where she has been in critical condition and on life support while doctors figure out how to treat her extensive injuries, some of which affect her head, neck, spine and abdomen. Doctor's have already offered less than favorable chances of survival but are doing all they can to treat her.

While she is in the hospital - a stay that doctors estimate should be about 30 days, most in ICU - my friend will be traveling back and forth from the bay area to be with her. He has already flown himself, his son and his brother out there to be with her this week. However, the cost of travel coupled with his job not offering paid leave is already putting a financial strain on him and his family. This fund, which I set up with his knowledge and approval, is to help offset the costs associated with him tending to the care of his mother in this very tenuous, stressful time.
