Latest Update: Praise God, Dad is home, resting at my brother's house in the Philippines! We are now raising funds to settle his remaining hospital promissory note of ₱373,205.46 PHP (~$9,000 CAD), due by Nov 17, as well as his ongoing home care and medication expenses.

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

My name is Mark Christian Agapito, the youngest son of Reynaldo Agapito, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of our family during one of the most critical times of our lives.

On September 26, my 65-year-old father was rushed to De La Salle University Medical Center (DLSUMC) in the Philippines due to severe pneumonia and underlying Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). His condition escalated rapidly, requiring the medical team to intubate him on a mechanical ventilator. He is now fighting for his life, and we are working urgently and hoping to secure his transfer to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for close, 24/7 monitoring and continuous hemodialysis.

He is fighting this battle with everything he has, so we are fighting right alongside him.

Where the Bills Stand & Why We Urgently Need Help
In just five days, our net hospital bill has already reached ₱318,850.58 PHP (approx. $7,800 CAD) as of October 1.
  • Health Insurance Exhausted: My father’s private health card (PhilCare) was applied, but because critical emergency intervention, respiratory therapy, and lab procedures are so costly, his insurance coverage limit was completely maxed out immediately.
  • Hoping to Move Him to ICU: We are praying and hoping to move him to the ICU as soon as possible so he can receive close, continuous monitoring. However, daily ICU life-support and room costs are expected to range from ₱50,000 to ₱100,000+ per day.
  • Pending Doctors' Fees & Dialysis Costs: The current ₱318,850.58 balance primarily covers hospital facilities, equipment, and laboratory fees. It does not yet include attending specialists' professional fees, nor out-of-pocket costs for specialized ICU dialysis supplies and critical medications.

We anticipate total medical expenses will quickly reach ₱500,000 to ₱1,000,000 PHP ($12,000 to $24,000 CAD) as he receives the intensive care he needs to recover.

Our Family's Situation
Our family is pulling together every resource we have. My mother and my two brothers in the Philippines are working hard on the ground to manage everything at the hospital, and I am doing all I can from here in Canada. However, despite everyone working hard and stretching our savings as far as possible, our family's modest incomes cannot keep up with the overwhelming speed of hospital expenses.

How Your Support Will Be Used & Financial Transparency
All funds raised will go directly toward keeping my father's life-saving care running without interruption:
  • ICU room and mechanical ventilator daily charges.
  • 24/7 close monitoring and critical ICU equipment.
  • Out-of-pocket hemodialysis fees, specialized filters, and nephrology supplies.
  • Critical IV antibiotics, medications, and specialist physician fees

Note on Transfers: As a Permanent Resident residing in Canada, I am organizing this campaign on behalf of my family. I will transfer all CAD donations collected through GoFundMe directly from my Canadian bank account via secure remittance to pay the hospital's billing statements in the Philippines.

How You Can Help
  • Donate: Any amount—no matter how small—helps cover another day of ICU care, close monitoring, or necessary dialysis supplies.
  • Share: Sharing this link with your friends, colleagues, and community helps us reach people who can support our family.
  • Keep Him in Your Prayers: Your encouragement, thoughts, and prayers mean the world to our family right now.

Direct Philippine Transfers (GCash / BDO):
For friends or relatives in the Philippines who prefer to send help directly in PHP via GCash or local bank transfer, please message me directly, and we will share those details with you privately.

We will post regular updates on his condition and progress here. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with our family during this fight.

With heartfelt gratitude,

#TeamAgapito
