My name is Reyna Ena-Elizabeth Theaker.
‘Reyna’ means queen in the Philippines, and that is what I am, the queen of my world.
I am 18 months old and I imagine life to be wonderful and magical. Everything was going to plan until I got sick. I was really hot one night, and mommy made sure I got medicine because she thought I was getting more big girl teeth. The next few days I wasn’t feeling good and I didn’t want to eat. The next thing I know, mommy and daddy took me to this big, scary place where a bunch of people were poking me and taking blood out. I was so scared and confused. Everyone was so nice to me, and eventually I got to come home.
I have something called ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) and my bone marrow is made up of 70% leukemia. I will be okay in the long run, but it’s going to be a looooong 3 years before I am normal again. I never imagined this happening to me, but I am so thankful that I have the best support system a queen could ever have.
Thank you.
