Rey's Surgical Cost

I adopted Rey January 31st, 2017 when she was just 7 weeks old as an emotional support dog. Every since then she has been my rock. She helps me through my panic attacks and through my bad days of depression. If it wasn't for her supporting me while I have been getting help I'm not sure where I'd be. She saves me everyday from myself. About 2 and a half weeks ago my perfectly healthy pup stop acting like herself. She was vomiting occasionally, lathargic, and refused to eat and drink. I took her to the ER vet for x-rays. They told me that from what they saw it doesn't look like she has any obstruction in her but that they couldn't guarantee they were correct. They then put fluid in her to hydrate and keep her fr vomiting. This seemed to work for a few days but then we were back to where we started.  This time around she just seemed more picky with what she would eat. She wasn't in pain and she was guzzling water. A week and a day after the ER visit she threw up again so we got anti nausea medication to see if having some food on her stomach would help. It did. But I then this wesnesday, September 18, she was not herself and looked miserable. I decided something is really wrong.  We go to another vet for a second opinion. They do another x-ray and blood work. The results come back and she had fluids in her abdomen that came from an obstruction in her intestines that broke through. This vet wanted us to get the best surgeon because he said Rey was needed help ASAP. He referred us to Sage. Sage gave her an ultrasound to get a better idea of what they were working with. The results came back and she did have an obstruction and what looked like a mass on part of her intestines. They told me that this would be a complicated surgery where they may have to remove a large amount of her intestines because of the damage. They were also going to need to do a biopsy on the mass to see if it was cancerous or not. At this point of talking to them I have had multiple panic attacks and Rey is just sitting there trying to comfort me. They give me the price and I don't think twice about it because she's saves me it's my turn to save her. The only surgeon that could get us in was located in redwood City so we drove from San Jose there to speak with the surgeon. They explain the procedure and then I say goodbye to Rey. The next 2 1/2 hours were excruciating because I was anticipating a call telling me the worst.  Thank God she made it through and is currently in recovery at Sage in redwood City under 24 hour care. But she still has a long road to recovery. Currently she is eating and happy to see everyone. She's a strong girl. She is bouncing around so much she pulled out her cathadar but she's ok. I am not the richest person. I am a college student who is a nanny. My hours got cut because kids grow up and go to school. I am in between jobs right now and this surgery is more expensive than expected. I would spend it in a heartbeat but I can't go homeless and others who rely on my financial support. I am not asking for much but whatever you can give will go along way for us as a little family. Even if you can just spread Rey's story I would be grateful. She is my world so please help however you can.  Thank you for reading we appreciate you taking the time
