Rey of Sunshine!

Hello, Tirow, and Hafa Adai,

My name is Becky Robles and I am reaching out to you on behalf of my best friend/sister and kumaire, Reyna Saures.

Some of you may or may not be aware of the health issues that Reyna has been struggling with. For about a year she has been dealing with pneumonia and issues with her lungs. After months of trying different and unsuccessful treatments in Saipan she was referred to Guam in December 2021 for further testing with a specialist. In January of this year, Reyna and Joe received the unexpected and devastating diagnosis that she has lung cancer. Reyna will now undergo chemotherapy in Saipan. Dealing with health concerns is stressful enough and financial worries add to that stress.

If you’ve had any encounter with Reyna as family, a friend, a teacher, a colleague, a boss, or a mentor, you know the rey of sunshine that she brings to your life. Her ability to make anyone feel at ease and her heart to listen to and help those in need are just a few of her many strengths. This is so true of her with her family, friends, acquaintances, and the community that she lives in and serves. Part of healing is knowing you have a community surrounding you and supporting you.

I set up this gofundme page to help support Reyna and Joe. The funds raised will go towards the mounting medical costs. Any amount will help alleviate some of the financial burden and medical expenses that they are currently facing and that are increasing. Not having to worry about the financial strain of medical costs can be a part of the healing process for Reyna.

There is another option that is available for those who are local, either in Saipan or Guam. If you live on Saipan you can give a financial donation to Beth Nunez and for those on Guam you can give to Elaine Kinsella. Those funds will be given directly to Reyna as well.
