Pixie’s Fight for Life (Please Help Us Save Him)
Pixie has been fighting a severe urinary blockage for over a month.
What should have been a simple, treatable condition slowly turned into a lifethreatening struggle because of repeated medical mistakes.
Our first veterinarian failed to clear the blockage and accidentally tore Pixie’s urethra while placing a catheter. This one mistake changed everything. it made his condition far more complicated and extremely painful.
We were then referred to another clinic for a Perineal Urethrostomy (a surgery that essentially turns a male cat into a female anatomically so he can urinate safely).
Unfortunately, this surgery was performed incorrectly.
Pixie’s surgical site opened twice, exposing him to severe infection, inflammation, and unimaginable discomfort.
After the third failed surgery, the previous clinic told us that there was “nothing more to do” and recommended euthanasia.
But when I looked at Pixie, I didn’t see a hopeless case.
I saw a little soul who still wanted to live. I couldn’t give up on him.
So I changed clinics immediately.
A Fourth Surgery ( A New Hope)
The new veterinary team tried everything they could to repair the damage caused by the previous operations.
They attempted a full reconstruction surgery, but Pixie’s tissues were so fragile and damaged that the stitches simply couldn’t hold anymore.
Today, Pixie lives with:
• large open surgical wounds
• daily laser therapy
• strong antibiotics
• constant pain relief
• and careful daily wound care
Despite all of this, he still purrs.
He still tries to groom himself.
He reacts to touch, to voices, to kindness.
These are not the actions of a cat giving up,
these are the signs of a soul who is choosing life every single day.
Severe Anemia — The Moment Everything Became Critical
The infections and multiple surgeries caused Pixie’s red blood cell levels to fall to a dangerously low level.
His hematocrit dropped to 8.8, a number where many cats simply cannot survive without urgent transfusion.
The clinic began searching for donor blood. They tested 16 cats:
• 13 were type B
• 2 were AB
• Only 1 cat was type A — the same as Pixie
That one single matching donor gave Pixie another chance to stay with us.
He is now receiving a critical 90 ml blood transfusion.
This transfusion is our turning point, the moment that may keep Pixie alive long enough to heal.
Pixie Wants to Live, But I Cannot Do This Alone
Pixie has been through more than most animals (or even humans) could endure:
• a torn urethra
• 4 surgeries that failed him
• a PU operation done incorrectly
• surgical sites that opened repeatedly
• severe infections
• open wounds requiring laser therapy
• life-threatening anemia
• the emotional trauma of being almost euthanized.
And yet… he still purrs.
He still lifts his head when someone speaks to him.
He still tries to clean himself.
He still believes in life.
Pixie has been hospitalized for more than two months now, and the medical costs have reached a level I simply cannot manage alone anymore.
His treatment can save him, but I need help to continue.
If you can donate, share, or simply send love, it would mean the world to us.
Every contribution, no matter how small, gives Pixie one more day to fight.
Thank you for reading his story.
Thank you for giving him a chance.
