Rex’s Emergency Vet Bills

Aloha everyone. Two days ago Rexy woke up and was running into things and having trouble seeing. My boyfriend took him to the vet immediately and they told him he was blind. Something called SARDS. I was on mainland and flew back the very next morning. We are devastated and so worried about him. He loves to swim and boogie board and play fetch. And now im trying to baby proof my house and help him transition to blind life over night. He seems happy but easily startled and scared if he is not next to one if us. He follows me around 10 times more than usual. I feel so helpless and its the worst feeling in the world! Everyone has been very thoughtful and telling me stories of hope for blind dogs. I am taking him to see an animal eye doctor on Oahu to make sure there isnt anything else neurological going on. Because he has been also walking a little funny and having head tremors which we think are a side effect from being on a medicine called Gabapentin and Steroids from his hurt neck issue, that we have been dealing with since July. He has been seeing another vet, the one who helped him recover from his back surgery years ago, for the neck issue. He has been going through so much and hasn’t been to the beach in months and I feel so heartbroken for him. He seems depressed and scared. I’ve spent thousands on vet bills and supplements. Which I will continue to do because he is my child! But if anyone can send Rexy some love and prayers or a $1 here and there ! That would be so appreciated! I hope to get to the bottom of this and somehow get him back in the water on his boogie board. Some way, some how that is my main goal! ❤️
