Hello. My name is Elizabeth and this handsome boy is Rex (name was chosen at birth by the ex-owners at birth and I just kept it because...well he has trex arms ).
Rex was born with no front arms, but he does have little nubs that hang (If you watch the video you can see at least one, maybe two of them, when his little sister knocks him over). During his birth, Rex was one out of four pups, one sadly didn't make it, the other one mysteriously disappeared while being held / babysat and one bedroom while the owners left on a short trip and when they came back they could not find it whatsoever so we all came to the conclusion that maybe the mom or the dad did something horrific. Growing up he had to remaining siblings, but shortly one was adopted way too early, if I may add, but he got to spend about 4 to 5 weeks with his sister (the black pup in the video). Unfortunately, One day one of the owners friends is taking care of the dogs while they were out in town and didn't know that the dad dog wasn't allowed around his pups because he didn't get along with them at all, so one morning the friend let the dad and the black pup out to use the bathroom in about 5 minutes later we heard the cup whimpering and when we open the door it was laying practically lifeless in the doorstep. Upon looking at the camera footage it looks like she tried to play with her dad and he attacked her really bad. She didn't make it. That being said, Rex has quite a traumatizing life at such a young age. From a pup up until today, and considering the fact that he was born that way, his mobility consist of pouncing around on the floor. Recently, he started standing on his hind legs and walking around like that for about 30 seconds and he falls right down. I want to get him an adjustable wheelchair for him. Although his nubs don't bother him at all...a vet recommended that I try and get them removed (can catch onto things and could be more prone to accidents). I was given an estimation of $700-$1400 per "leg", but since they're extremely small...the vet said she's only going to charge me the $700 per leg (2).
Rex is absolutely full of enegery! I feel so bad because I know it's normal to him, but I'd love to see him running through grass, chasing bugs, playing with other dogs, take him to a park, and other things. I love him unconditionally.
If you've read this far, thank you so much! I'm sure Rex appreciates it also Have a blessed day everybody.
*( If donations isn't an option you want to do, which is completely fine, shares and prayers are more than enough. )*
