On February 12, 2022 Rex "Rico" Gonzaga returned home to our heavenly father after battling multiple health issues of his own, which stemmed from his Chronic Kidney Disease. Unfortunately, his death had been a tragedy to our family as this was not something we had not expected. At the time he was in the hospital for two different surgical procedures, both, as we know, were completed and he was recovering well after. However, the following morning we were told he had gone into cardiac arrest, appropriate measures were taken to try and save him, but he did not make it. It breaks our heart to know that Rex did pass alone at 0530 that morning in Cedars Sinai Hospital.
Those of you who have known Rex, or have met him at some point in your life will know that he was a unique and genuine person. He has touched the lives of many people around him; he always made an effort to spark up a conversation. He was someone you could count on even if he didn't have much. Rex was also a bit of a firecracker; he always kept it real and was never afraid to say what was on his mind.
What had kept Rex thriving so long despite his medical issues was his family and his husband Mike, he loved his family unconditionally and he always made it known to the world. He is now resting peacefully with his mother Solita Gonzaga and his sister Jennifer Gonzaga-Nicolas.
At this time, our family is asking for help with past due medical expenses and to provide our beloved Rex with a proper Memorial. Our family would like to thank you all in advance for your generous donations. We also ask at this time to please share this GoFundMe.
