Revving Hope: Supporting Serena's Medical Journey

Serena, a cherished member of our community, is renowned for her vibrant spirit and love for motorcycles. Despite facing medical challenges, she remains an inspiring figure, known for her infectious positivity and unwavering determination. Recently, Serena shared her diagnosis, revealing the complexities of her health journey. Four years ago, she was diagnosed with Chiari malformation, a condition where her brain extended into her spinal column, causing pressure. Despite undergoing surgery two years ago, complications persisted, leading to a subsequent diagnosis of papilledema, resulting in fluid buildup and intracranial hypertension. Sadly, Serena has experienced a rapid decline in eyesight, along with seizures and migraines, threatening her cherished pastime of riding. Now facing the necessity of another surgery, Serena remains resilient. Scheduled for a life-altering procedure on June 4, 2024, she embraces the potential positive changes it may bring, even if it means relinquishing her beloved motorcycle rides. To support Serena during this challenging time, the community has rallied together, organizing a benefit 'last ride' on May 18, 2024, to celebrate her passion and raise funds for her medical expenses and rent. Despite the uncertainties ahead, Serena's indomitable spirit shines through, reminding us all of the power of resilience and community support in navigating life's challenges. All money raised will go directly to Serena.
