REVOLVE’s mission is to help protect as many frontline health care workers as we can. We see this as our responsibility to step up and leverage our strengths and position as a global retailer, experts in global product sourcing, and leaders in social media networking, to procure the masks required to protect our frontline workers – our heroes – and deliver them directly into their hands to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our original plan was to provide personal protective equipment to our own REVOLVE employees, which had suddenly led us to realizing many frontliners we knew personally were also in dire need. We were able to quickly source and secure thousands more masks and asked ourselves, “Who else needs masks?”
We decided to take this to social media and announced on our Instagram page that we were donating 10,000 FDA-approved N-95 masks to local hospitals in Southern California, with 20,000 more masks on the way to be donated to other hospitals in need. We asked our community to share our initiative on social media, and for anyone on the front lines to email us directly to help us decide where to distribute these masks.
The response was overwhelming. With our inbox filling up by the hundreds every day, from hospital staff to family members of doctors and nurses, we knew that we had to extend ourselves beyond SoCal and donate masks to hospitals in desperate need for protection all over the country.
As of the beginning of April, REVOLVE has donated 35,000 masks to 17 hospitals and clinics across the country, with an additional 204,000 masks in transit to donate to over 74 hospitals in waiting. Time is of the essence, and our frontline workers, our parents, our brothers and sisters, cannot wait any longer.
“The response from our frontline workers is heartwarming, but heartbreaking knowing that for every mask we deliver, there are countless more frontline workers fighting with no protection,” says Michael Mente, Co-CEO & Co-Founder of REVOLVE. “As a business with a global reach, we realized that our unique combination of our sourcing expertise, streamlined logistics and operations, and engaged social media network, positioned us to procure the much-needed masks and deliver them directly into the hands of our frontline workers.”
REVOLVE's goal is to raise $1,000,000 to procure and distribute more FDA-approved masks to donate to hospitals and healthcare facilities across the United States. We are asking our community of customers, influencers, partners, friends, and family to help us raise more money to reach our goal as soon as possible.
Together, we can #REVOLVEaroundourheroes and protect our friends on the front lines who are risking their lives to save our loved ones.
