Hello!

I'm Danny Mellor, an actor & writer from South Yorkshire. I trained at The University Of Hull and the Royal Welsh College Of Music & Drama.

I'm raising money for a brand new one-man play I've been working on for sometime now: Revolting, a play set in the 1381 Peasants Revolt.

The play focuses on the ordinary people involved in the revolt, their motivations, struggles and experiences and the various disputes that happen along the way as they navigate their way through this unprecedented moment in English history.

With many parallels to todays world such as economic unfairness, ongoing international conflict, demonisation of certain groups and life after a pandemic, Revolting is a show that aims to look at how the past can teach us lessons for the present.

So why am I asking for funding?

In simple terms: funding is hard to come by these days, so I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and ask those who are able to support this exciting new project for some help.

What am I wanting the funding for?

In a nutshell:

As with Undermined, my one-man play set during the miners' strike, REVOLTING aims to be simple but powerful with the ability to perform in any venue. Undermined toured big theatres, miners halls, pubs, community centres, village halls and even The Houses Of Parliament!
