Greetings, friends, supporters, and the community of Muskogee! My name is Otis Logan Jr., and I am the Founder and Pastor of Greater Works Ministries-Oklahoma. For years, God has used this ministry as a vehicle to empower associate ministers who often lacked a platform to share their powerful messages. I've had the privilege of providing these dedicated servants with opportunities to preach, recording their sermons, and airing them on a national TV network.
Greater Works Ministries-Oklahoma has always operated without a traditional "home." For years, I would rent out churches from generous pastor friends, spending full days filming multiple ministers. A dedicated pastor friend would then meticulously edit these videos and send them to the TV station for broadcast. We've hosted over 50 praise and worship events, showcasing more than 100 local and regional ministers – all free of charge. My journey expanded to local radio, and in 2023, I proudly launched The JOHN1412 TV Network on Roku, featuring over 30 ministries, again, completely free of charge.
Throughout this journey, I have never directly asked anyone for financial contributions because God has always miraculously provided. However, due to our growing online presence, a common question I receive is, "Where is your church?" It's been a humbling reality to say we don't have a physical location. Now, God has opened a door for Greater Works Ministries-Oklahoma to establish its own permanent home – a place where we can consolidate all our efforts and, more importantly, expand our reach to serve the physical and spiritual needs of the Muskogee community in unprecedented ways. This property at 624 East Side Blvd. is that answer.
Our Vision: A Dynamic Community Hub for Muskogee
Help Greater Works Ministries-Oklahoma bring a historic Muskogee landmark back to life! We have signed a purchase agreement on the former Central Baptist Church, located at 624 East Side Blvd. This once-thriving institution was a cornerstone of the community, known for its extensive outreach programs, flourishing ministry, and vital services like a food pantry, clothes closet, dental clinic, children's programs, and support group meetings (NA & AA). As the congregation aged, the facility sadly fell into disrepair. Now, we have an incredible opportunity to revitalize this space and once again make it a beacon of hope and service for the entire Muskogee community.
Our vision is to transform this expansive property into a dynamic "Community Hub" – a place where individuals and families can find support, resources, growth, and connection. This multifaceted center will address various needs within our community, fostering both spiritual and practical well-being.
The property itself is substantial, boasting over 30,000 square feet, including a sanctuary capable of seating 500 people, an adjoining office building (formerly a children's daycare), and a large vacant lot. We envision this space being utilized to its fullest potential through a combination of ministry initiatives, community services, and entrepreneurial ventures.
The Problem:
A once-vibrant community pillar, Central Baptist Church, has fallen silent. Its extensive facilities, which once housed critical outreach programs and served hundreds, are now underutilized due to an aging congregation no longer able to maintain the property. This means a significant resource for the Muskogee community is dormant, leaving gaps in essential services that were once provided. Furthermore, the property faces immediate challenges like a black mold issue in a basement restroom, 3 restrooms that need urgent attention, along with general deferred maintenance, hindering its immediate usability.
The Solution: Greater Works Ministries-Oklahoma's Community Hub
Greater Works Ministries-Oklahoma has stepped forward with a solution: to acquire this historic property for $350,000 and breathe new life into it. Our plan is not just to establish a church home, but to create a thriving Community Hub that restores and expands upon the services this location once provided, and introduces innovative new ones. With your help, we can transform this facility into a place that truly serves, empowers, and uplifts our community.
What We Plan to Do:
Upon acquiring and renovating the property, our comprehensive plans include:
Community Hub & Business Incubator:
1. Office Space Leasing (Community Hub): We will transform the office building into a dynamic business hub, leasing out 10-15 individual rooms to small businesses, fostering local entrepreneurship, and creating a collaborative environment.
2. Ministry Incubation: Several rooms will be leased to small local ministries, providing affordable, professional spaces for their services.
3. Event Center: We will create and lease out a dedicated event center within the facility, perfect for community gatherings, conferences, and celebrations.
4. Sanctuary Leasing: The large sanctuary will be available for lease to larger congregations for their services, as well as for public and private events such as weddings, funerals, concerts, and more.
5. Music Recording Studio: Establishing a professional music studio that can be leased hourly, supporting local artists and creative endeavors.
6. Personal Businesses: My wife will operate her insurance business from one office, and I will utilize offices for my DNA Diagnostic and Fingerprint businesses, contributing to the hub's vibrant ecosystem.
Comprehensive Community Services:
7. Cafe: Launching a welcoming cafe serving coffee, donuts, and light lunches to the community, creating a warm gathering space.
8. Child & Adult Daycare and Learning Center: We plan to either establish our own daycare and learning center or lease the existing space to an established program, providing crucial childcare and educational opportunities.
9. After-School Program: A safe and enriching after-school program for latchkey kids until their parents can pick them up.
10. Computer Lab: A fully equipped computer lab offering various educational lessons and digital literacy training.
11. Food Pantry & Clothes Closet: Re-establishing vital resources to support families in need.
12. Mental Health Counseling: Providing accessible mental health support and resources.
13. Support Group Meetings: Continuing the tradition of hosting NA & AA meetings, and expanding to include Weight Watchers meetings.
14. Fitness Room: Creating a fitness space for community members to promote health and well-being.
15. Outdoor Community Engagement (Vacant Lot):
Hosting outdoor community events such as movie nights and community yard sales, fostering community spirit.
Future plans include building a dedicated community center on the vacant lot.

17. Feed The Homeless & Community Children: We would like to offer free lunch to the community provided through donations from the local food bank and other community programs.

The purchase price for this incredible property is $350,000. Our immediate goal is to raise a minimum of $50,000 for the down payment.
However, our ultimate fundraising goal is $400,000. This comprehensive amount will not only allow us to outright purchase the properties but also provide an additional $50,000 for critical initial renovations and operational costs, including:
A. Black mold remediation in the basement restroom.
B. Enlarging the existing three restrooms for improved accessibility.
C. HVAC replacement to ensure comfort and efficiency.
D. Essential cosmetic upgrades and addressing deferred maintenance to make the facility safe and welcoming.
