Revive Skylynn's CBR300R for Her Loved Ones
Donation protected
This is a memorial fund for my friend Skylynn Fickling. She was a bright light in this world, and after her passing, she left behind a community that was beyond shocked. Skylynn was loved dearly by her friends and family. She was someone who was incredibly selfless with everything and everyone she met and was someone who was cut from a different cloth than the rest of us. She will be missed.
There is already a GoFundMe set up for the proceeds to go to her family for funeral costs and other accrued costs since she has passed, and this GoFundMe is not that one. This one is for her CBR300R that she left behind that we want to fix up and give to the family as something for the family to remember her with.
After we learned the news and had some time to process, a lot of us immediately wanted to do something for the family, and fixing up this bike was one of the things at the top of the list. Little did we know what all this bike needed and how much it's been through. "Hookfang" is the name of her CBR300R that she bought to learn on. This bike ignited a passion in her to become a Moto Influencer and move onto bigger and faster bikes. With this bike being her learner bike, it wasn't set up for the most glamorous life for any beginner rider. Only a few knew the history of this bike and to make it brief, it was beat on and brought back to life more than once. When we got a hold of this bike, the fairings were spray-painted matte black, every single piece of plastic on the bike was damaged, the radiator was bent back, the wheels and handlebar weren't straight, and the bike refused to turn over. As we would later find out from her local mechanic, who was also her coworker, this bike was starved of oil and had zero compression.
This isn't a laundry list for the normal person. A lot of money and love has gone into this bike so far, but we didn't realize how much more love this bike would need and how tight on funds this project would have us in. As this project goes on and parts are bought and put on, the progress of this bike will get posted here for full transparency on everything going on. If anyone wants to reach out to me directly, you know where to find me in the Dem2s chat. There is also a google sheet to parts that were working on finishing up and what we need to order vs what we already ordered.
