PS/MS 279 in The Bronx had a proud team tradition of attending and performing well at the U.S. Chess Federation Scholastic Championships (CFSC) from 1996 until 2019. Covid put an end to that streak, and inadequate funding has led to the students being unable to achieve fiscally a return to the CFSC. A young group of talented and enthused students wishes to revive this tradition, but they need financial help from anyone who is willing to help.
