When I started at Mission High School 21 years ago I wanted to build a program that the city could be proud of. We had amazing success from 2008-2019, winning 9 City titles in 12 years, and an unprecedented state championship in 2017 - the first state championship for a San Francisco public school, in any sport, ever! A huge part of that success was bringing the team to overnight sports camps at local colleges during the summer. These camps allowed us to build basketball skills, bond as a team, and exposed the student athletes - many first generation college students - to university campuses and dorms. It gave the teams confidence, experience, and connection. With major funding cuts in 2019 and the COVID-19 pandemic immediately after, that piece of the program has been lost. I need your help to bring it back. To invest in Mission’s basketball program, but more importantly to invest in opportunities for these aspiring scholar athletes.
If I ever took you to camp, bought you food, or cheered you on in your life, please help me help others. Any amount you can contribute is appreciated. I have always led with love and heart, and it isn’t easy for me to ask for help. But it is with love and heart that I reach out to the broader village that makes Mission High such a special place. Thank you!
