My name is Marrie-Rose Garbacz. I was born in Jamaica, and my family still calls it home. When Hurricane Melissa tore through the island, it didn’t just damage buildings. It upended lives. Our immediate focus is Westmoreland, where families need practical help to stabilize and rebuild. As our capacity grows, Revive Jamaica Foundation will expand support across the entire parish of Westmoreland.

Why we started Revive Jamaica Foundation

I co-founded Revive Jamaica Foundation with Taneise Henry-Hacker, who attended Manning’s High School in Savanna-la-Mar, one of Jamaica’s oldest and most respected secondary schools known for academic excellence and community leadership. We provide immediate disaster relief, and we support youth in trade schools with skills training, mentoring, and workforce development in construction and related trades. Your gift brings relief now and invests in the people who will restore homes, schools, and local businesses.

What we’re doing now

We are organizing a 40-foot relief container with pre-bagged care kits and bulk supplies for distribution across Eastern Westmoreland. Thanks to the Sisters of Christian Charity, Mendham, NJ for donating their space to accept shipments and load the container.
