Revive DRTY SMMR: Aid Bushwick's Artistic Community

On 7/29/24, a fire broke out around 4am in a mixed-use building in Bushwick. Thankfully, no one was hurt in this, but sadly a pet was lost upstairs. The third floor was completely burned and the 2nd and 1st floor suffered water damages leading to everyone having to vacate the building. We have all been relocated through the RedCross. For those of us that live at DRTY, we have had no access to our clothing and other needs.

DRTY SMMR on the first floor is a DIY space that specialized in artists making and selling their own handmade clothing, remixed clothing, artwork, and accessories. It was also known as a space where musicians played their first shows or one of many. Most of the clothing, fabrics, sewing machines, drum set, PA system/monitors, mannequins, etc., were damaged. They have been part of the community for over 10 years.
