Wanonah's Journey: Through generous funding from Life Comes of it, I will set in motion a project to revitalize the culture, traditions, and practices of the Stockbridge Munsee Band of Mohicans, in the aftermath of our forced relocation from Western MA to Wisconsin in the 1770s. This will be launched through a 6-month professional development fellowship with Alliance for Viable Future through projects like Peacemaking, and introductory training, which will illuminate the extent to which and how these practices are embedded in our culture, traditions, and core values.

Though I appreciate this funding I also recognize the need for monetary supplementation to cover costs associated with going back to my ancestral homelands, such as traveling expenses for myself, my brother, Shawn, and my daughter Gracie. Shawn has agreed to travel into MA to help me get settled but will need to return early, given his competing priorities and responsibilities. Gracie, on the other hand, will need additional support, as she will likely struggle getting settled into a new environment, given that she has courageously dealt with multiple anxiety disorders, And finally, though this grant will cover many of my living expenses, I also have existing financial obligations that will not be covered sufficiently.

For these reasons, I am reaching out for donations that will support this happening. These contributions will enable me to focus on this important and long-overdue work.
