Hi! It's my Birthday again(!), so I'm launching a new fundraiser. This year, the money will go towards WALDORF UNIVERSITY'S JAZZ PROGRAM. After joining the faculty at Waldorf University in Forest City IA, I quickly enrolled in the jazz band. This is an AMAZING group of hard working and fun students with a dedicated bandleader. One thing they could use though...new equipment for the drum kit.

Can you blame them? A drum kit is MADE to be beaten up, so wear is common. But...we have a FAT TUESDAY concert for the community set in about two weeks.

The goal of this fundraiser is to revitalize our jazz band's drum kit for the Fat Tuesday concert performance, and for future performances.

To that end, I am asking for donations, not for a new drum kit, but simply to make our current kit sound as good as possible. I identified specific specs on drum heads (top and bottom) for our snare, three toms, and kick drum. To give you an idea, these drum heads as a full set (all of them total) price around $300.

The kit could also use new cymbals, which are doubly expensive (about $700 per cymbal). Having a dedicated ride cymbal and bright new hi-hats means not just a better sounding band, but it saves our diligent drummers from hauling in their own gear week in and week out.

All gear is specific and has been selected by our music instructor. I'm simply asking for funds to make these purchases and, hopefully, make our Fat Tuesday concert as amazing as possible.
