The Live Music Committee, a student-led organization through the renowned Bandier Program for Recording and Entertainment Industries at Syracuse University, is on a mission to bring back the vibrant live music and house show culture that once energized our campus and the surrounding community.
Live music is more than just entertainment- it’s a platform for creativity, collaboration, and connection. For emerging artists, it provides invaluable performance opportunities, while for students and community members, it fosters a sense of belonging and shared experience. A few years ago, Syracuse used to have 5-6 consistently running house venues. Over the past year, that scene has disappeared. Our goal is to rebuild this ecosystem to its previous glory by supporting safe, inclusive, and professionally run house shows and live events throughout Syracuse.
To make this vision a reality, we are raising funds to purchase a sound system. This equipment will allow us to:
- Host consistent live performances for student and local artists.
- Ensure professional sound quality, enhancing the experience for performers and audiences alike.
- Support safe and organized events that strengthen relationships between students, venues, and the local community.
- Provide accessible resources for musicians who may not otherwise have the means to perform.
