Revitalize Lumberton

Hello!

My name is Emma Buchanan. My husband, Sam Ginn, and I have been working to open the Lumberton General Store, a new diner and small grocery in the newly renovated blue restaurant in Lumberton, Clinton County Ohio. We are asking for your help getting the doors open so we can give our community what it deserves: good American food, made with careful attention and locally sourced ingredients, served by friendly, attentive staff.

 

We believe that our region produces some of the best food you can buy. So, we plan on sourcing as many ingredients and products as we can from the great producers in our area. We are tired of having to go to a big city to find a great restaurant that bases its menu on local ingredients. Therefore, we have decided to open one here in Clinton County. We believe local communities deserve local quality.

 

My grandfather, Hiram Bledsoe, owned the Lumberton 68 Family Restaurant when I was a kid. I remember riding my bike up the road to visit him there. While eating a slice of pie (or two), I would watch as he would go from table to table visiting every seat that was filled. Since it closed I have dreamt of reopening the doors and introducing this new vision. That time is near, and we are asking for your help to get there.

Our focus at the Lumberton General Store is “community.” Therefore, we are reaching out to our community for assistance. We know that these are not the most prosperous times for many. But if you are interested, and able to contribute to the opening of our doors, we would be extremely grateful.

 

Your donation will help us purchase a few important items. Some are fun, some are practical, and all necessary.

 

The Fun:

- Espresso Machine: At the Lumberton General Store, we plan to serve great coffee and hand-crafted espresso drinks to our rural community. We are asking for help with the purchase of the espresso machine. We can’t wait to begin working on our signature drinks made with handmade ingredients.

- Soft Serve Machine: During the summer, there is nothing better than great soft serve ice cream. We plan to offer creamy soft serve made with local dairy piled high with handmade toppings.

 

The Practical:

- The Deck: There is nothing like eating outside on a beautiful Ohio day. We plan to build a deck on the south side of the building so we can bring our guests even closer to the beautiful rural charm of the area and expand our seating options.
