Non-violent revenge film about elder abuse

Hi, my name is David. I'm making a low-budget independent dark comedy film

about people and institutions who take financial and social advantage of the elderly. 

 

To be as vague as possible, I watched how my mother was treated at the end of her life by individuals and institutions who were more interested in taking her money than providing love and care.

 

At a certain point, she said to me, "am I in prison?" and when she realized that it was her "loved ones" and "The Corporation" and the elder ombudswomen who were doing this to her, she said, "something should be done."

 

I told her, "maybe something will be done, Virge." That was 8 years ago.

I'm not waiting to reach the $$ goal. This is a no-budget film. The casting and shooting has already started.

 

This film attempts to communicate that sometimes people can't forgive and forget and that actions have consequences.

 

This film will be a fantasy film based on real characters and events but will hopefully be more entertaining than the complicated truth. 

 

Inspirations for this film are "What's Up, Doc?", "The Count of Monte Cristo" and "The Mentalist".

 

The funds will be used to get out of debt for the camera and equipment, housing, expenses and feeding the cast and very minimal crew.

 

With my first film, "Death and Dr. Chang(e)," I had zero funding, and it took me seven years to complete. I don't have that kind of time for this film, and I'd greatly appreciate any help getting it done quickly.
