Alicia and Clayton Revels were excitedly anticipating the arrival of their second daughter due in November when an emergency occurred, resulting in Alicia having to undergo an emergency c-section on Friday, August 19th. The Revels family welcomed their precious baby girl into the world at only 28 weeks gestation. Their premature baby girl, Giana Elliott Revels, was born weighing only 2 pounds, 10 ounces and was immediately transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Wolfson Children's Hospital. The Revels family has a long journey ahead. Giana will need to stay in the NICU for at least a couple of months before she can come home. Their world has been turned upside down as they begin to navigate the road ahead of them.
While Alicia and Clay were hesitant to allow me to set up this support fund, I know personally that hospital care for a baby is extremely expensive. The goal of this fund is to help offset the cost of Giana's months in intensive care. I also hope it will alleviate the financial burden of Alicia having to leave work much earlier than anticipated. This family has been such a source of strength and support for many others. It's time they feel that same love in return.
Alicia and Clay know that the Lord, our God, will carry them through this season of life. They know that times like these are what God created community for. They welcome all prayers uplifting sweet Giana and their family. We also pray for Giana's amazing big sister, Emilia, as she adjusts to this life change. Let's pray for strength, perseverance, and grace for the Revels family and for wisdom and guidance for Giana's medical team. Thank you to all who are able to offer support and prayers!
