Rev Up Vince’s Life: Secure Him a Home!

Donation protected
Meet Vince. Vince was sitting outside a QT in 112-degree heat. I bought him an iced coffee and we got to talking. He lives in a tiny pull-along trailer, with no power, water, or vehicle to tow it. I gave him a backpack of necessities and he was grateful as it will help him with his back because he has scoliosis.

I drove him to his home in the desert with the car air conditioning on full blast. I told him I was putting together another bag of goodies for him and would bring it to him. All Vince wants is a job, he does not want a handout. My husband and I went to the store to buy provisions for him. Vince's home is just big enough for him to squeeze into. He has some random things that appear to be used as insulation. There were bugs, and rats as well. I don’t know how he survives in this 110+ Arizona weather. Essentially it’s a tiny hot box in the desert. He said his landlord, who let him have his home on her land, passed away, and the new owners are going to kick him out. His travel trailer will not travel, nor should he continue to live there in those conditions.

With support from the fantastic community on NextDoor, I’m creating this GoFundMe to raise money so that Vince can have a drivable home, like an RV with AC, and basic needs like a clean mattress and a place to eat a meal. A neighbor of mine found one for $950, and there are other RVs in this price range that are rough, but with work may run. With the cost of registration, insurance, gas, and possibly a little extra to help fix it up with sheets, and maybe some food, I am estimating a cost of $2,500. If we can’t raise this amount, we will continue to look for something that's at least better than the conditions Vince is living in today.

As a human being, I can’t stand by and watch this very kind man become homeless. He doesn't have much, but what he does have is his home, and it's not meeting his basic needs for survival. I’ve received many suggestions for him to find help on the other side of town, and these are great options, but this is a proud man who isn’t asking for help, and he knows everyone in his community around him so it would be so wonderful if he could stay where he knows people.

If you can donate even a few dollars it would help Vince. If you can’t donate monetarily, please send positive thoughts to him. I believe enough positive energy can make things happen too. ❤️
